Carrier-Grade Linux Working Groups

Established March 8, 2002

Mission

To define the specifics of a Carrier-Grade Linux that addresses the full spectrum of telecommunications requirements in an age of converged voice, video and data. To drive kernel level enhancements into the Linux kernel to meet these telecommunications requirements.

Working Group Participation

Participation is open to everyone, either representing a company or as an individual contributor. Only companies that are OSDL members may appoint representatives. Individual contributors must sign a "Participant Agreement" (see www.osdl.org).

Development Environment

CGL development will be done entirely in the open source community. The OSDL CGL development site contains the definitions of CGL feature sets as well as the locations (URLs) of the patch sets, which are implementations/integrations of feature sets.
